Overview

The Colorado Brewery Running Series (BRS) brings together runners and craft beer lovers in one of the country’s most vibrant beer scenes. Founded in 2016 in Colorado (as an expansion of the original Minneapolis BRS), this unique race series now includes dozens of brewery-based events annually—ranging from casual 5Ks to well-supported half marathons and trail races across the Front Range.

Each half marathon event in the BRS is hosted at a local brewery, where runners start and finish their race right at the taproom. Courses are typically paved and fast, following out-and-back or looped segments on bike paths, canal trails, or park roads. Cities like Longmont, Fort Collins, Denver, and Golden frequently appear on the calendar, often with scenic views of foothills and rivers.

BRS events stand out for their laid-back, welcoming vibe. While the races are chip-timed, they’re just as much about fun and community as competition. Runners praise the post-race celebration, which features live music, food trucks, giveaways, and of course, a free craft beer for every finisher.

“It’s a race where everyone’s in a good mood—and the beer afterward makes it even better.”
– IG @brewandrunco

These events often support local charities, and many attract repeat participants who love the blend of fitness and flavor.

Course Description

The Half-Marathon and 5k will start and finish on the north side of Anderson Park along the Clear Creek Trail. The course will begin with an out-and-back to the east (4.1 miles round trip), followed by an out-and-back route to the west. The course will feature a moderate elevation change (~700ft), with the last 4.5 miles being all downhill! Aid stations will be available every 2-2.5 miles. Carrying your own water bottle or hydration pack is permitted and encouraged. You may refill either at our aid stations. Toilets will be available at several locations throughout the course as well as at the start and finish line.
