Overview

Set for Sunday, June 8, 2025, the Crowley Brothers Memorial Road Race brings decades of road-racing tradition to Vermont’s scenic Green Mountains. Established in memory of the legendary Crowley running brothers, including Olympian Frank Crowley, this event includes a certified Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, Kids’ Mile, and 10K relay, all wending from Proctor to downtown Rutland.

📜 Race History & Atmosphere

Celebrating its 48th consecutive year, the Crowley lives on as one of New England’s oldest and most beloved road races. Over nearly a century, it has earned championship status and draws a loyal following, with Olympian Bill Rodgers returning in recent years to run the 10K.

🏞 Course & Experience

The half marathon kicks off at 8:00 AM EDT from Proctor, descending along scenic rural roads into Rutland’s vibrant downtown finish near Merchant’s Row. Fully certified and fast, the route features rolling terrain, long downhill stretches, and strong crowd support in the final miles. Water stations, course marshals, and crisp New England air make for a culture-rich, yet fast-running day.

🎯 What Makes It Unique

Crowley’s historic roots and certification appeal to runners chasing fast times alongside a race with character. Community energy is high—multiple distances, kids’ runs, corporate team categories, and a weekend festival feel. With capped fields and championship recognition, it balances elite performance with hometown warmth.
