Starting on a dirt road behind Olympian Hall, runners head out behind Howelsen Lodge in pursuit of Prayer Flag Road where the first aid station will be found. Continuing, runners will reach what’s known as the Stairway to Heaven. After the next aid station, runners take a right on Lane of Pane Road where they’ll reach the Epic High Point 8200 feet above sea level. Proceeding along Quarry Mountain trail and then Blackmere Road, runners will have reached another aid station at which point they’ll enter the heavy descent section of the course.
