Overview

The annual Hometown Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, 1‑mile, and Kid’s Dash return to the scenic Lewis and Clark Boathouse in St. Charles, welcoming all levels of runners and families. All distances begin together at 7:00 AM CDT, offering a lively, inclusive start to the weekend.

The half marathon and 10K/5K traverse paved park roads along the Missouri River’s waterfront, featuring flat stretches ideal for fast times—though slight rolling terrain may be present. Pacers support half-marathon runners, while chip timing and live results ensure an efficient and competitive experience. Free photos and generous post-race treats add to the community fun.

Participants are treated to standout swag: a designer shirt and custom finisher medal for each distance, with youth under 12 enjoying shoestring pricing ($15 for 5K/10K). Unsurprisingly, it’s a family favorite—Kid’s Dash and virtual options are available, and pack pickup includes fun extras and local vendor engagement.

What makes this event unique is its small-town charm blended with high-level organization—the flawless mix of scenic riverfront running, professional race features, and strong community engagement. Whether chasing a PR or enjoying a morning with kids, the Hometown Half delivers a warm, inclusive atmosphere.
