The Just for the Helena of It Half Marathon offers a half marathon, 10K, and 5K, and takes place in Helena, Montana.
The 5K and 10K courses take runners through gravel paths and asphalt, and the half marathon challenges participants with a mix of asphalt, brick, trail, and concrete surfaces. The half marathon route is an open course, partially routed through Helena’s roads, meaning it remains open to traffic. Safety is a priority, and the course is clearly marked with cones and volunteers to guide runners.
After running, there’s an after party featuring prize drawings, food trucks, and live music. All finishers over the age of 21 with valid ID will receive their first beer free, with additional beer available for purchase.
All profits from the event are donated to the Friendship Center and Girls Thrive. The Friendship Center’s mission is to provide a safe haven for those affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Girls Thrive was created to inspire girls to empower themselves through physical activities and educational lessons aimed at fostering self-confidence, self-esteem, and a positive body image.
