The Kenosha Running Company Veterans Day Run offers a heartfelt tribute to Military Veterans, Active Duty members, Reserves, their Spouses, and Friends of the Military. Set against the serene backdrop of the White River Trail in Lyons, WI, with the start and finish at Riverview Park, this event is a meaningful way to celebrate and honor the sacrifices made by those who serve. The trail, a transformed SOO railway path now featuring a crushed limestone surface and shaded by canopy trees, serves as an ideal setting for reflection and appreciation.
Registration is complimentary for all Military Veterans, Active Duty members, Reserves, and their Spouses, underlining the event’s commitment to acknowledging their service. Participants are encouraged to commemorate the occasion by purchasing flags to honor military heroes, which will beautify the start/finish line, creating a powerful visual tribute.
Additionally, the event supports the Kenosha Running Company’s Red White & Blue Running Program, offering discounted or free race entries to the military and law enforcement personnel and their spouses. This initiative promotes physical activity and builds a supportive community among service members and their families.
The event features a 10K, a half marathon starting at 10:00 am, and a 2-mile walk at 10:15 am, accommodating various levels of fitness and participation. Following the race, attendees are invited to extend the celebration and camaraderie by visiting local Lyons businesses for refreshments, further fostering community spirit and support on this special day dedicated to our nation’s heroes.
