Overview

More than 1,200 runners crossed the finish line at last year’s Miami Beach Halloween Half Marathon & Freaky 4-Miler, along a course that takes runners across the brilliant blue waters of the Biscayne Bay that separates downtown Miami from the Miami Beach area, and along the walkways and boardwalks along the Atlantic Ocean.

Fast and largely flat thanks to its coastal location, the course for the race starts at South Pointe Park, the southernmost tip of Miami Beach. From there, runners weave their way through South Beach before heading north along Ocean Drive for a brief stretch.

Course Description

The Ocean Drive stretch ends as runners enter Lummus Park, where they connect with both the Serpentine Walk Esplanade and the Beach Walk Esplanade, a winding pathway along the beach that they’ll take all the way north to Lincoln Road. Here runners turn left for a brief out-and-back stretch, where the course follows Lincoln all the way until runners hit the fountains on Lenox Avenue. At this point, they turn around and head back toward the beach, crossing Collins to the beach walkway.
Once back on the pathway, runners head back northward along the pathway all the way to Indian Beach Park, where they turn around and retrace their steps down the walkway back down to Lummus Park and then re-connect with Ocean Drive, which they take all the way back to the race finish line near the fountains just west of South Point Park.
For the 2024 race, the scheduled starting time is 6:30 AM, and runners will have 4 hours to complete the course. Both runners and walkers are welcomed and encouraged to sign up, organizers note.
