The Faxon Law New Haven Road Race Half Marathon has been a Labor Day tradition for 47 years and counting! The 2025 event promises to be just as exciting as those in the past, featuring an impressive lineup of runners and a thrilling course through one of Connecticut’s most vibrant cities. Starting on the famous New Haven Green, the course will take you past the stunning campus of Yale University before winding through the charming Westville neighborhood. You’ll also have the opportunity to run through East Rock Park, offering stunning views of the city and the surrounding hills. Along the course, you’ll encounter plenty of cheering spectators and local entertainment to help keep your energy levels high.

Course Description

This course is a point-to-point race with some hills sprinkled in throughout. The course passes through some of New Haven’s most iconic landmarks, including the New Haven Green at Mile 7. There, you’ll encounter a lively crowd of spectators cheering you on. For those looking to take on the Half Marathon Relay, your team of two runners will split the 13.1 miles into two segments of approximately 6.5 miles each. This is a great way to challenge yourself and a friend while experiencing the excitement of one of the country’s premier road races. The race is capped at 4,500 runners (60% capacity), so there are plenty of opportunities to meet and mingle with other runners. The half marathon course has a time limit of 3:15 hours, so plan accordingly. Of course, there’s an awesome after-party for this race at BAR New Haven! This popular bar and restaurant is the perfect place to relax and refuel after the race, with delicious pizza and ice-cold beer. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or a first-time racer, this scenic and challenging course will help you push your limits and achieve your goals. Head to New Haven on Labor Day!
