The April Fools Half Marathon has been a staple in the East Haddam community for more than two decades, providing a challenging and rewarding race for runners of all abilities. Located in the picturesque village of Moodus in the town of East Haddam, the course takes runners through some of the area’s most beautiful natural landmarks.
Starting at the East Haddam Senior Center, runners will make their way around East Haddam, passing by landmark destinations like Bashan Lake, Babcock Pond Wildlife Management Area, and the beautiful Banner Golf Course.
As they near the final stretch, runners will pass by the Moodus Reservoir and make their way back to the senior center, where they will finish to the cheers of friends, family and fellow runners.
With a total incline change of just under 300 feet, this course is sure to test even the most seasoned half marathoners. With seven water stops along the way, runners will have the refreshments they need to power through the tough hills and cross the finish line with pride.
In addition to the beautiful scenery and challenging course, runners can enjoy free Tek Ts for the first 200 registered, as well as refreshments before and after the race. Awards will be handed out after the race, with participation medals given to all runners who complete the course and Amazon gift cards awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers.
