Overview

Saturday, June 21, 2025, marks the scenic Newcastle Beach event featuring a USATF-certified Half Marathon, plus 10K and 5K options. The race takes place at Newcastle Beach Park in Bellevue, offering a balanced mix of riverside trail charm and community spirit along the Eastside Rail Corridor (Eastrail).

🏞 Runner Experience & Course

Start is scheduled at 9:00 AM PDT at the Eastrail trailhead, just above the Newcastle Beach parking lot. The Half Marathon travels west along the paved multi-use corridor, passing through peaceful residential zones and light forest before turning back mid-course. The trail is open to cyclists and pedestrians, so runners should stay mindful of shared roadway etiquette. A scenic, flat out‑and‑back structure makes it accessible and welcoming.

The 10K and 5K begin at the same time and follow shorter segments of the half course. Aid stations are spaced roughly every 2 miles, offering water and electrolyte beverages. Parking and post-race facilities are conveniently located at Newcastle Beach Park.

🎯 What Makes It Special

Celebrating the first day of summer, this event brings Bellevue residents and trail lovers together in a friendly, inclusive setting. It’s a local favorite for flat, fast pacing, and its riverfront trail and small-town finish festival give it charm beyond typical road races. The modest field size encourages interaction, personal pacing, and scenic focus rather than crowd navigation.

The Newcastle Beach Half Marathon & 10K/5K is a flat, engaging early-summer run on Bellevue’s Eastrail corridor. Ideal for first-time half marathoners, PR seekers, and neighborhood runners, its shared trail, summer timing, and lakeside backdrop deliver a casual yet meaningful running experience.

Course Description

Cool breezes will capture your journey over Eastrail overlooking gorgeous views of Lake Washington. For those taking on the half and 10k views of the Seahawks VMAC (Virginia Mason Athletic Center).

The course is open so you will be sharing with walkers and bicyclists.
