For the first time, the race introduces a series of events at the Sandridge Trail, offering participants a refreshing twist to their trail-running journey. The new accommodations include free-standing restrooms with sinks and running water (two bathrooms) and a “privy” at the 3.5-mile mark for the half marathoners, eliminating the need for porta-potties. A pavilion with ample picnic tables and space for tents adds to the convenience and comfort.
As a special addition, the event now includes a Kids FUN RUN, offering a yet-to-be-determined distance of either a 1/2 mile or 1.5-mile loop. The race courses are loop-based, with the half marathon, 14k, and 5k featuring two loops each (one loop for the 7k). This unique setup allows family and friends to cheer on participants at the start/finish line for each loop.
With aid stations strategically placed at the start/finish line and the 3.5-mile mark for the half marathon, participants can stay energized throughout the race. There’s even a possibility of an additional aid station at the 2-mile mark for the 14k and 7k, depending on volunteer availability.
Get ready for an exhilarating day of trail running, camaraderie, and family-friendly fun on May 4, 2024, at the Ocho de Mayhem Trail Race. It’s not just a race; it’s a celebration of the spirit of running in a beautiful natural setting.
