Overview

Set for Saturday, September 20, 2025, the 15th Annual Oklahoma Fallen Heroes Half Marathon offers a moving and meaningful experience. Hosted at Meridian Landing on the OKC River Trails, this event includes 5K, 10K, and half marathon distances, all supporting the Oklahoma National Guard Fallen Heroes Scholarship Fund.

This half marathon honors twenty fallen heroes—19 servicemembers and one sister—who made the ultimate sacrifice. Runners are met at the start with banners and dedications, and at each mile marker along the 13.1-mile course, before one final tribute at the finish line. Each marker features a banner displaying a hero’s photo and brief biography, weaving personal stories into the running route.

The certified, out-and-back course unfolds along the flat River Trails greenway, offering minimal elevation, wide pavement, and scenic water views—ideal for steady pacing or personal records. Aid stations, live timing, and crowd support make this a polished and purposeful race environment. Though not USATF-sanctioned, the course is clearly measured and performance-grade.

With capped field sizes, early packet pickup on the day before, and meaningful race-day honors, the experience is both intimate and impactful. Registration includes a race shirt; finishes by 12:00 PM CDT complete within the 4-hour half marathon window. Whether you’re running for remembrance or seeking a flat late-summer course, this event blends purpose with pace in a heartfelt Oklahoma setting.

🌟 Why You’ll Love It

This is much more than a race—it’s a living tribute. Every mile honors a hero, and every step supports educational scholarships. On a flat city trail under Oklahoma morning skies, runners come together in purpose, pace, and remembrance. Looking for race-day logistics, pacing tips for the out-and-back route, or parking near Meridian Landing? I’d be happy to assist!
