The annual springtime running of the Ohio River Road Runners Club Marathon & Half Marathon features a loop course that starts and finishes at the Xenia YMCA on Progress Drive and takes the field through downtown.

The race features a winding course through the commercial and residential parts of Xenia, with no area of Xenia covered twice (save the start/finish line).

Runners, walkers and wheelchair athletes are all welcome to compete in the half marathon — the marathon is open to runners and wheelchair athletes only — and everyone starts at the 8:00 AM official race starting time. The terrain for the race takes the field across a combination of paved surfaces along city streets and bicycle paths along the rails-to-trail portion of the course. A smaller and more low-key race compared to some of the other big-city metro area races around the state, the ORRRC Marathon & Half Marathon saw more than 1,200 runners cross the finish line in both races combined in recent years. Past participants describe it as a mix of a relatively easy and relatively level course with a few stretches through wooded bicycle paths and along rural country roads that feature a few hills here and there.
