Thanks in part to its location along the shores of Lake Winnebago in eastern Wisconsin, blustery cold weather with blowing wind and even snow are always a possibility at the springtime running of the Oshkosh Marathon, Half Marathon, Relay & 5K, which takes runners on a tour of this city’s downtown near the shores of the lake.

Overview
Course Description
With four bridge crossings, roughly a third of the course along the waterfront and a route that takes runners past local attractions including the ponds at South Park, the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and Menomonie Park & Zoo, the race offers lots of changing scenery and neighborhoods along the 13.1-mile route.
Both the 5K and the half-marathon race start and finish near downtown Oshkosh’s Riverside Park, along Main Street next to the Oshkosh Convention Center, and just blocks from the city’s Grand Opera House and the Oshkosh Public Library.
From there, the course follows what is roughly a counter-clockwise route through the city, taking runners across bridges over the water first across Wisconsin Street and then later, on the return route back to Riverside Park, across Main Street.
