Windsor, Colorado’s Red, White & Brew race offers a festive way to kick off your Independence Day celebrations. Formerly known as the “On Your Own Fourth of July” run, this event blends patriotic energy with small-town charm and relaxed vibes. Organized by Run.Windsor, it’s part of their well-known local series that encourages runners of all levels to get moving and celebrate community.
Participants can choose from half marathon, 10K, and 5K distances. The half marathon is a looped course, mostly on paved paths and roadways around Windsor Lake and the Poudre River Trail system. The terrain is flat and fast, ideal for those chasing personal bests or simply enjoying the Colorado sunshine. The scenery features lake views, neighborhood streets, and stretches of open space with occasional mountain vistas.
Though this race is on the smaller side, it offers plenty of support, with well-placed aid stations and a welcoming, local crowd. A standout feature is the post-race craft beer at Peculier Ales, giving runners a refreshing way to toast their finish.
“Great way to start the 4th! Course was easy to follow and beer afterward was a nice bonus.”
This event is family-friendly, dog-friendly, and has a casual, celebratory vibe that makes it a staple of Windsor’s Fourth of July festivities.
