Are you ready to close out the best week of your running life with a bang? Look no further than the Riverboat Marathon Series – Day 7 Marathon & Half Marathon in Vienna, IL! This race is the last in a weeklong race series that includes stops in Louisiana, Arkansas, Missisissip, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Missouri. You can run just this one race or run them all – it’s up to you. If you choose just to run the Illinois leg, the course is set on the picturesque Tunnel Hill Trail, offering moderate shade and stunning views of the local terrain. Mostly composed of crushed rock with a small portion of asphalt, this course boasts an elevation gain of only 23 feet per lap, making it an excellent choice for both novice and experienced runners alike.

Course Description
But what really sets this race apart is the unique features of the area. Vienna is a small town bursting with personality and charm. You can take a stroll through the quaint downtown area before or after the race and enjoy shopping at the local boutiques. History buffs will appreciate the abundance of historic sites in the area, including the Vienna Public Library, the Johnson County Courthouse, and the Kirkpatrick Law Office. But don’t let the small-town feel of Vienna fool you – this race is big on hospitality! Its “no runner left behind” policy means that all runners are warmly welcomed and supported. They even encourage walkers to join in on the fun, as well as runners of all abilities and experience levels. There’s one giant “aid station” stocked with more food and drink than you could ever want or need. Recharge with everything from fruit to jelly beans to sandwiches, and stay hydrated with water, Gatorade, and hot coffee. The mobile kitchen, Loony Lunchbox, will be on site to whip up some delicious post-race eats.
