Nestled between the Cascade Range and the Siskiyou Mountains in southwestern Oregon lies the city of Medford and the Rogue River Valley, which runners will make their way through at the fourth annual running of the Providence Rogue Run Half Marathon, a point-to-point race that’s nearly all downhill.
Runners will spend nearly all their time during the race on the running, walking and biking pathway known as the Bear Creek Greenway, a corridor of public parks and urban green space areas that stretches from Central Point at its northernmost point to Ashland at its southern end, and encompasses some 600 acres of pristine, natural parkland filled with lush vegetation and plentiful trees along the Bear Creek, which also stretches between the two cities.
