We are thrilled to announce the 8th annual half-marathon and 3rd marathon races, set against the scenic backdrop of Northeast Texas. The half marathon route spans from DeKalb, Texas, to New Boston, Texas, while the full marathon course extends from Avery, Texas, through De Kalb, Texas, and into New Boston, Texas. Both routes traverse the northeast end of the longest hike/bike trail in Texas, spanning an impressive 130 miles. In addition to the traditional marathon and half marathon, we offer two and four-person relays, providing options for participants of all preferences and abilities.

The Northeast Texas Trail, which serves as the setting for our races, stretches from Trailhead Pavilion in New Boston, Texas, to Farmersville, Texas. Originally operated by the Union Pacific and Chaparral railroads, this rail bed was repurposed in the late 1990s for non-motorized activities, offering a picturesque backdrop for our event.

Mark your calendars for October 14, 2023, as race day approaches. The half marathon kicks off on the trail near Highway 82 in DeKalb, Texas, while the marathon begins at the junction of CR 4310 and CR 4315 in Red River County, culminating at the Three Bostons’ Museum in downtown New Boston, Texas. Following the race, participants can enjoy a post-race celebration at the finish line.

To streamline the event experience, shuttles will transport participants from Trailhead Park in New Boston to the start lines in DeKalb and Avery on the morning of the race. Registration packet pickup will be conveniently located under the Trailhead Pavilion, west of the Three Bostons’ Museum, on October 13, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and on race day from 6:00 a.m. until 7:30 a.m.
