Held annually around Veterans Day, this iconic Coronado-to-Imperial Beach run marks its 25th year in 2025. Hosted by KOZ Events and supporting veterans and foster youth, it asks runners and walkers alike to traverse the scenic Silver Strand highway closed to traffic for the day.
The half marathon kicks off at 7:00 AM from Sunset Park in Coronado, with 10-Miler and 12K events starting shortly after, followed simultaneously by the 5K at Silver Strand State Beach. The flat, out-and-back, USATF‑certified course hugs the coastline—Pacific Ocean to the west, San Diego Bay to the east—making it both scenic and swift.
Post-race, runners enjoy a festive beach-party finish with live music (Taiko drummers, DJ, live beach-band), a Seek Beer Garden, food vendors, and a unique surfboard finisher medal or Hawaiian shirt/dress swag. The event supports Life Sports Foundation, which donates shoes and scholarships to foster youth and challenged athletes, and includes military/first-responder discounts and special awards under KOZ programming.
