The Skinny Raven Half & 10K is a midsummer Anchorage race run by the local running store in partnership with Brooks, starting and finishing at the Centennial Rose Garden on the west end of the Delaney Park Strip. The half starts on 10th Avenue and finishes at 10th and N Street.
The current course — new as of 2025 — heads west onto the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail before joining Point Woronzof Road, with views across Cook Inlet to snow-covered mountains and planes passing low overhead on approach to Ted Stevens Anchorage International. Aid stations sit at roughly miles 2, 3, 4.75, 6.5, 8.25, 10 and 11, with gels at two of them.
The half runs in two waves: an 8:00 AM early wave and a 9:00 AM main wave, with the 10K at 9:20. The early wave is intended for participants expecting to take around three hours, not for faster runners wanting an early finish — organizers note that aid stations and medical support are not in place for anyone running under 2:30 from the 8:00 start. Results are scored on net chip time except for the overall top three in each race and gender.
The finish area is the draw. Runners get lunch, a custom finisher glass and a Double Shovel cider in the cider garden, plus coffee, recovery services and shade in the Rose Garden. A virtual option runs the week leading up to race day. The race has sold out in recent years.
