Do you like running? Do you like wine? Do you like beautiful scenery? The Temecula Wine Country Half Marathon in Temecula Valley should be on your calendar if you answered yes. Runners will travel course dotted with orchards, horse farms, vineyards, and at least 18 separate wineries.

Plus, after finishing the race, all runners can join the Alaska Airlines Wine & Music Festival at Wilson Creek Winery.

The loop style course features small rolling hills in the beginning and one large climb in the middle. Just before mile 10, runners will ascend the top of the last big hill and enjoy a fast finish. The course begins at Ponte Winery and ends at Wilson Creek Winery.

Runners take off from Ponte Winery and head southwest on Rancho California Road. They will then make a sharp left onto Anza Road and continue along until reaching mile marker 3. At the intersection of De Portola Road, runners will make a left and make the journey east and north.

De Portola Road is the section of the course that runners will be climbing approximately 500’ in elevation over nearly 5 miles. The climb steadily increases as runners make their way to the northeast portion of the loop. Just before mile marker 9, runners will reach Glen Oaks Road and make a left to continue along the course.

Once on Glen Oaks Road, runners will begin their descent towards the finish line. The course continues along Glen Oaks Road until just beyond mile 11.5. At the intersection of Rancho California Road, the course takes a quick right and then makes a quick left on Buck Road.

At the mile 12 marker, runners will begin to make their way onto the Wilson Creek Winery property where they will race to the finish line.

The top 3 overall male and female runners will receive awards as well as the top male and female masters. Age group awards will be given to the top 3 in each category. Additionally, the fastest team (with a minimum of 6 members) will receive an award. All finishers will receive a medal.
