The Vermillion Trails Alliance is excited to host the Fourth Annual Victory Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K! Whether you want to qualify for the Boston Marathon or you want to experience a 5k in a very unique setting, we have something for you! Race Through a Once Secret Historic Military Compound Certified Marathon Course for National Race Qualification Unique Bib #’s & Custom Finisher Medals Military Themed Race Shirts Discounts for Veterans, Vermillion & Parke County Students The Course The course is a flat, scenic route through a historic military compound that is closed to traffic. Both the marathon and half marathon courses are USATF certified for national race qualification. The Location The race takes place on the grounds of a once secret military munitions compound, which supplied our military with explosives to help the United States win peace for the world during WW2. Our venue was then used to store many other military weapons throughout the early and mid 1900s. Now the Vermillion Rise Mega Park which has been repurposed for local industry retains many remnants and evidence of Military ruins and manufacturing facilities! The Mission All proceeds support the Vermillion Trails Alliance in its mission to grow and connect the people of Vermillion County by expanding our network of trail and recreation opportunities!
