Overview

The Whiskey Row Marathon, Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k is an Arizonan favorite and is amongst the toughest courses in the world. WIth that said, it’s stood the test of time, entering its 45th year in running; it’s become an Arizona tradition. While Prescott, Arizona is a beautiful city with amazing views, and while runners will certainly be given the opportunity to indulge in all of its natural beauty, the Whiskey Row race event is known for its rugged terrain, it’s emphatic elevation gains, and its often severe weather run-ins throughout the challenging course. If you’re up for the challenge, Whiskey Row is surely going to become your favorite annual half marathon!

Course Description

The half marathon event is an all-trails event starting on Montezuma in front of Palace Bar. Runners will then make a right onto Goodwin followed by a quick left onto Summit. From there, runners will endure Park, Glendale, and Coronado trails before reaching Hassayampa Village Ln. Then it’s onto Copper Basin and Forest Service’s dirt road until runners reach Thumb Butt Park. At this stage, runners participating in the half marathon will turn around and all but retrace their steps to the finish line. Throughout the course, runners can expect water stations at mile 1.5, 4, 5.75, 7.4, 9.6, and 11.96. As for the completion of the race, it will finish at the Palace on historic Whiskey Row where finishers can then celebrate and take part in the half marathon award ceremony to take place at 10:30 am sharp.
