Overview

The Wild Duluth Races in Northern Minnesota are a testament to the spirit of ultrarunning, challenging even the most seasoned athletes with steep climbs and technical trails. The event spans two days, with the 100K kicking off at Bayfront Festival Park in downtown Duluth.

The course for both the 50K and 100K is predominantly set along the Superior Hiking Trail. This trail is known for its rugged terrain, rocky paths, and root-filled tracks. It guides runners through the city’s high points and ridges, then transports runners from the city limits into untamed wilderness. Here, runners can enjoy views of Duluth and the vast expanse of Lake Superior, as well as dense forests, rocky outcroppings, and streams. These courses are as brutal as they are beautiful, offering almost 10,000 feet of elevation gain for the 100K and half that for the 50K.
