Saturday, August 29, 2020 • Richmond, CA • Course Map

Note: The 2020 race is a virtual event to be run by August 31. Registration details are included below.

Located just north of Berkeley, this Bay City course offers plenty of beautiful views of the surrounding water, giving runners the opportunity to run in the Point Pinole Regional Shoreline Park throughout the entirety of the race and enjoy a course off the beaten path.

The start/finish line is in the southernmost section of the park and runners will toe the line beginning at 9:00 AM, where they’ll begin a 13.1 mile course that features two large loops that will be run twice.

Approximately 380 feet of elevation gain is expected over the entirety of the half marathon, which will feature about 20 percent single track and 80 percent crushed rock surface, making it the perfect introduction to trail running.

Runners will begin on the Powerhouse and Woods trail before making their first turnaround at near the San Pablo Bay. They continue the course along the Bayview Trail with the water over their right shoulder. Once near the start/finish line, they will head out on Cooks Point and make a loop around Black Powder Press and towards Owl Alley Trail.

Racers will near the water again and then turn around and head back on Pinole Point Trail. Once they’ve completed the circuit twice, they will cross the finish line near the entrance of the park.

Because this is a trail run, racers are encouraged to review the course map before race day. Polka-dot flags will assist runners with making the correct turns at intersections throughout the course.

All finishers will receive a custom medal. Top overall finishers as well as the top three in each age group will receive special awards.
