Colbert Autumn Classic Half Marathon

Saturday, September 30, 2023 • Colbert, WA • Course Map

A few hundred runners cross the finish line each year at the early fall running of the Colbert Autumn Classic Half Marathon, which has become a running tradition here in this small town just north of Spokane.

Hosted by the Bloomsday Road Runners Club of nearby Spokane, the race hosts two divisions — the regular division, which usually features a starting time of 8:00 AM, and a division for runners who expect to take longer than 2 hours, 30 minutes to finish, which features an early start at 7:00 AM.

Both follow the same loop course for the race that starts and finishes at Colbert Elementary School on East Greenbluff Road.

From the elementary school, runners head out on a route that makes a counterclockwise loop along the rural country roads just north of Colbert, where runners can expect to encounter both paved roads and gravel roads, and some hilly stretches in the first half of the race, near the community of Green Bluff.

Between the mile 1 and the mile 3 markers, the course climbs some 450 feet as runners along East Greenbluff Road; there’s another big downhill between miles 5 and 6 along North Sands Road.
