Event Details

With the race start and finish at the fire station in downtown Micanopy, Florida (located just 10 miles from Gainesville, home of the University of Florida), the Tom Walker Memorial Half Marathon is a Florida Track Club Grand Prix event, offering double points for the half marathon. The race is free for all runners age 17 and under, and includes a free Fun Run for any age participant at 8:30 a.m. The 2008 running of the race featured a new venue, along the Gainesville-Hawthorne trail, and more details will be posted as they are available.


Race Weather & Climate

Set just a few miles south of Gainesville, the town of Micanopy typically sees mild to moderately cool weather in the mid-fall season, with relatively moderate rainfall. In November, average monthly temperatures range between 75°F and 53°F, while rainfall totals average about 2.58 inches for the month.
