Both athletic finesse and creativity are rewarded during the All-Out Kooky-Spooky Half Marathon, 10K, & 5K.
In addition to the competition of the run, participants are invited to take part in a costume contest, where they can register at the finish line aid station before beginning their run. Winners will be given during the award ceremony following the races.
So, whether you’ve got a creative group costume, a stunning individual one, or even a canine companion you’d like to dress up, this is the time to bust out your finest Halloween apparel!
The half marathon is a predominantly concrete city course. From the starting line at Jefferson County’s North Area Athletic Complex (NAAC) Stadium, runners will proceed along W 64th Parkway to the path on Virgil Way, where they’ll make a right turn to go east on Ralston Creek Trail.
After finishing this 7 mile out-and-back leg of the course, runners will make a counter-clockwise loop around Arvada’s Blunn Reservoir before returning to the finish line at NAAC Stadium. Along the course, there are 8 stops for water and fuel, 3 of which also have port-a-potties.
At the finish line, celebrate your race with breakfast burritos, fruit, bagels, and chocolate milk. And be sure to stay for the costume contest judging!
Love this race? Want to run the course again? Check out All-Out Spring Fever, hosted by All-Out Multicourse in March, which utilizes the same routes.
Take Note
While wheelchair racers and those pushing strollers are allowed, these participants are cautioned that there is a brief unpaved section of the course that can be tricky to navigate.
