Overview

The fourth annual Mine Shaft Half Marathon and Endure 12-hour and 24-hour Challenges are part of The Human Potential Running Series and offer willing participants a no-pressure environment to test their abilities under the beautiful natural landscapes of Colorado.

Scenic Views, Challenging Course. Nestled in the scenic Pike Peaks region of Colorado within Mueller State Park, a 5000-acre park, comprises beautiful mountainous views, scenic waterways, and abundant foliage.

This half-marathon event, taking place at the end of May, offers runners a mild and pleasant outdoor atmosphere.

Course Description

This half-marathon course entails a double-track and single-track non-paved path, starting runners clockwise around Homestead path. It’s then past Beaver Path and toward Mountain Logger path. Passing Grouse Mountain Overlook, runners persist forth before turning counterclockwise to head back towards the overlook retracing their steps back to the start line/finish line. With a time limit of 12 hours (yes, you read the correctly) and a capacity of 250 participants, this small and no-pressure racing event is ideal for all fitness levels and walks of life, encouraging walkers and runners alike to come out and participate. All registrants are guaranteed an event shirt, access to well-stocked aid stations throughout, the opportunity to enjoy a scenic but challenging course, and if you’re lucky, a finisher’s medal.
