A race event sponsored by the town of Painfield, the Back Your Badge Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5k is a premier event in its inaugural year in support of the Public Safety Agencies of Plainfield, Indianapolis.
Scenic Views. Providing participants with an abundance of unique landscapes and scenery throughout the 13.1-mile course, runners can expect to enjoy a run through the historic US 40, the Plainfield Trail System, and of course, past all Public Safety Agencies including the police and fire stations. What makes this event most unique, however, is that you aren’t only competing against yourself but rather for a Public Safety Agency of your choice. All proceeds will directly benefit them, and in turn, the agency with the most miles logged will earn bragging rights and a traveling trophy!

Starting at 951 Vestal Road nearby Talom Stream Park, the half marathon course kicks runners off along East Coast County Road 350 South, turning onto Liberty Meadows Road, then Crabtree Lane before exiting onto Vandalla Blvd. From here, runners continue toward Old Nation Road, otherwise known as the historic US 40, where they’ll find themselves on West Main Street for some time. Up on North Carc Road, the race continues, entering the second half of the course where they’ll loop back around onto the US 40 in the other direction. Onto White Creek Lick Trail, a few more detours before reaching the finish line back where it all began. Depending on the agency of your choice, a specific complimentary event t-shirt will be provided, whether police, fire, or team 911. In addition, commemorative finisher’s medal will also be provided, along with epic free raceday photos and more.
