Center of the Nation Series is a six day event series that takes place in a different state each day. Day one (1) of the series takes place in beautiful Sterling, Colorado within Pioneer Park. PR Chasers, Trail Runners. Taking place in Pioneer Park, this flat and gravel multi-loop trail isn’t one that’s particularly scenic, however, is one that offers the opportunity to chase PRs! Sterling itself is a vibrant city in northeastern Colorado known largely for its agriculture and educational institutions. While it may not be the most bustling, activity-rich destination, it’s a great visit for those travelling out of state to participate.

Runners will begin at 17615 Highway 14 and persist along a flat and loose-gravel trail path in Pioneer Park, completing a total of seven (7) laps on the Pawnee Pioneer Trails for the half marathon. With a no-runners-left-behind policy, this community running event has no posted time limit, welcoming runners and walkers of all fitness levels to join in on the fun and challenge themselves, whatever that challenge looks like to them. If you do plan on walking, however, and expect to be longer than 6 hours, it’s encouraged to take advantage of the allowable early start times! Due to the unique multi-loop course, the half marathon is equipped with one giant aid station comprising everything from water and Gatorade to granola and bananas that runners can revisit after completing each loop. Finally, all participants can expect to receive a t-shirt, a medal, and other fun surprise goodies.
