Known for its rugged mountain terrain and gorgeous scenery as one of the country’s popular winter vacation areas for skiing and snowmobiling, this western Wyoming town opens its arms to about 250 runners each year for this race, which take runners from the center of downtown to the banks of Fremont Lake, up in the mountain country surrounding the town.
Runners thinking of participating need to be ready for a high-altitude event, as the race starts at an elevation of 7,175 feet above sea level and experiences an overall gain of about 300 feet through the course of the race.
