Overview

Friday, November 28 – Saturday, November 29, 2025, the Colorado River Run unfolds across the Hill Country at Arkansas Bend Park, just north of Austin. Organized by Fit Foundation, this multi‑distance trail festival offers distances from 5K to 100 miles, including a quirky Taco Trot, all wrapped in riverside scenery and rugged beauty.

Over two days, runners can choose the 100‑mile or 50‑mile ultra, or tackle shorter runs like the 50K, marathon (26.2 mi), half marathon, 10K, 5K run/walk, 5K ruck, or kids’ 5K. Individual distances start between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM CST, with generous cutoffs—36 hours for ultras, 12 hours for marathon, and 9 hours for half, 10K, and 5K.

Course & Experience

Set along the banks of the Colorado River, the course blends scenic single-track, rugged dirt paths, creek crossings, and riverfront vistas. Perfect for both pacing and adventure, runners will find varied terrain including moderate climbs, rocky sections, and lush riparian zones. Aid stations are well-stocked, eco-minded, and staffed by volunteers committed to low-impact trail use.

What Makes It Unique

The complete spectrum of distances—from a festive Taco Trot to a 100-mile ultra—makes this a standout event for all trail lovers. Pacers are allowed for ultra distances after certain mileage markers, and prize-worthy finisher medals, sustainable practices, and a strong community ethos round out the experience.

Course Description

These distances offer participants a unique, scenic experience along the Colorado River. The course is a single loop that takes runners through the natural beauty of the park, showcasing both wooded areas and the tranquil banks of the Colorado River. As runners navigate the loop, they will find themselves enveloped by towering Ash Junipers, providing a shaded and serene environment that contrasts beautifully with the open, sunlit vistas along the river’s edge. The route along the river offers breathtaking views of the water and limestone cliffs, enhancing the running experience with the opportunity to spot local wildlife. This balanced blend of landscapes not only challenges runners with its varied terrain but also rewards them with its picturesque setting, making it a memorable race for both seasoned marathoners, casual runners and hikers alike.
