Crofton’s Dam Race Half Marathon

Set against the backdrop of the stunning Missouri River region, the Half Marathon route winds through paved highways, offering a high-altitude scenic run east of the Lewis & Clark State Recreation Area. As the sun sets over Lewis & Clark Lake, the beauty of the surroundings becomes an indelible memory, inspiring a desire to return. The race’s impact extends beyond the runners, as Crofton’s Dam Race has pledged $25,000 towards a walking and biking trail through the State Recreation Area, contributing to the region’s growth. Six years ago, a community united to invite newcomers to experience their slice of paradise, and now, drawing nearly 300 racers from a dozen states, they celebrate the uniqueness of their town and invite others to feel the same.

Take part in the Crofton’s Dam Race Half Marathon overlooking the beautiful Missouri River region. The race path follows paved highways with scenic views of the Lewis & Clark State Recreation Area. The race organizers have pledged $25,000 of support towards a walking and biking trail in the recreation area.
This race attracts nearly 300 racers, who are well supported by over 100 volunteers from the local area including families, EMT crews, firefighters, Yankton Search & Rescue, local law enforcement, and state park hosts.
After the race, enjoy a finisher’s party with bloody mary’s, food, drinks, and live music.
