Overview

Set for Saturday, August 9, 2025, the Eddy Trail Races — hosted at the Chi Rho Center on Lake Sylvia’s south shore — deliver a weekend trail adventure with two standout distances: the Big Eddy 50K (7 AM start) and The Eddy Half Marathon (10 AM start). These certified and rugged courses explore the scenic—and at times rugged—Stanley Eddy Park Reserve, offering runners a mix of dirt single-track, gravel, and paved connectors.

The half marathon features roughly 8 miles of trail, 3 miles of gravel, and paved sections bookending the route. Aid support is strong: three aid stations (one used three times) ensure you’re never far from hydration. The terrain is hilly, with rolling elevation and approximately 2,500 ft of vertical gain across the 50K—making for a challenging but scenic run.

A major draw is the full weekend immersion: onsite lodging (cabins, dorms, tents) and buffet meals provided from Friday through Sunday create a retreat-like atmosphere, allowing runners to focus on the race—not logistics). Post-finish, many celebrate with a refreshing dip in Lake Sylvia. It’s exactly the kind of event built for both community and camaraderie.

Whether you’re chasing trail PRs or simply reveling in nature, Eddy Trail Races invite both novices and veterans to tackle a memorable, well-supported, outdoorsy experience.
