As spring unfurls its warmth and colors, the First Call 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon beckons runners to shake off the chill of winter and embrace the racing season of 2024. Hosted on the fast and flat Glacial Drumlin Trail, this event is not just a race but a declaration of readiness for the year’s challenges and competitions. Positioned as a key fixture in the Chilly Willy Winter Run Series, it offers a unique opportunity to test speed and endurance on a course that boasts being ‘faster than flat.’

Taking place at the E.B. Shurts Building within the serene Fox River Sanctuary in Waukesha, WI, runners of all distances will embark westward along the trail, with turnaround points clearly marked to guide 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon participants. The race ensures safety and support, with police officers stationed at road crossings and four aid stations dotting the course at strategic intervals, offering water, sports drinks, and energy gels to fuel the runners’ journey. In addition to the physical test, the race also celebrates achievement and craftsmanship. Finishers will receive a unique ‘woodle’ from Ridgeway Woodworks, a wooden medal that symbolizes their accomplishment, while top performers in 5-year age groups are honored with custom woodles. An awards ceremony post-race adds to the day’s festivities, with the option for award collection at Silver Circle’s Global Headquarters for those unable to attend. This race is an invitation to step into the vibrant spring, setting personal records on the Glacial Drumlin Trail and gearing up for a season of personal bests and community camaraderie. Join us at 810 W College Ave to mark the beginning of your 2024 racing journey in the heart of Waukesha, WI.
