Set for its 17th annual running at a time when the Fort Worth area usually experiences some of its mildest temperatures and more benign weather conditions of the year, the Fort Worth Marathon, Half Marathon & 20-Mile Run takes runners along an out-and-back course that unfolds along the city’s Trinity Trail system, a 35-mile series of paved biking, walking and running paths that connect many of its local urban parks.
From the starting line at entertainment venue Panther Island Pavilion, runners follow the Trinity Trail first northward along the Trinity River toward Rookwood Park, as the course snakes its way along the Trinity River. After reaching the first turnaround point, runners continue south along the river, continuing to the second turnaround point, which for those running the half marathon is located just past Hulen Street.
For those running the full, 26.2-mile marathon, the half-way turnaround point is located 6.5 miles further down the trail, in Benbrook at Pecan Valley Park.
