Now in its 41st edition, the Scheels Healthy Human Race returns on Saturday, August 23, 2025, offering a half marathon, 2-person half-relay, and a 5K—plus virtual options—for runners of all levels. Organized by Rochester Running Club, this flagship summer event doubles as a major fundraiser supporting local running initiatives.
The half marathon and relay kick off at 7:00 AM CDT, followed by the 5K at 7:15 AM, both finishing on the scenic loop of Soldiers Memorial Field Park. Participants race on fast, flat paved trails through downtown Rochester and trail systems, making it ideal for PRs, while still inviting back-of-pack runners with a 4‑hour cutoff.
Course amenities include chip timing, relay awards, live and virtual participation, convenient packet pickup at Scheels near Apache Mall, and medical support at start/finish . The relay option allows teams of two to split the half-marathon distance, adding a social, strategic element to the experience .
Runners praise its lively yet organized vibe: “well run… beautiful city and course… back of pack friendly” . The event weaves together community spirit, central Rochester charm, and support for local programs—making it a destination for all: competitive runners, walkers, virtual participants, and families alike.
