You’ll start by heading north with a 400 foot climb up a gravel service road and into Unicoi State Park, take on rolling hills as you run towards the Bottoms Loop Trail, and climb up to GA HWY 356 at mile 3

You’ll hit your first aid station at mile 4, giving you a chance to refuel before continuing on to the Bear Trap Aid Station. This second aid station is the last fully stocked station until you return to it after the next 3 miles. From there, you’ll take on the Smith Creek Trail and climb to the top of Hickory Nut Ridge, enjoying the gorgeous rhododendron and hardwood forest along the way.The downhill run back into Unicoi State Park and the fully stocked aid station 1.5 miles away will give you a chance to catch your breath. From there, it’s a push back towards the finish line, with four miles of downhill running that will have you feeling invincible. And when you cross that finish line, you can celebrate with a victory beer and a dip in the Chattahoochee River.
