A point-to-point race course, this race, beginning at 1200 W White Mountain Blvd., will take runners down Porter Mountain via Elmer’s Way before reaching Pinetop/Lakeside. Once reached, it’s off to the finish line at the Blue RIdge High School track. With a small elevation gain of just under 400 feet, this race is challenging yet approachable for all fitness levels. It’s important to note, however, that the altitude alone may result in an extra challenging race, sitting at 7000-8000 feet for its entirety. With a time limit of four (4) hours, this race is a walker-friendly event; though you might need to power walk to make the cut-off! To be prepared before the race, the following are both the cut-off checkpoints and aid station mileage: Mile 2 (must reach by 6:36 am), 4(must reach by 7:13 am), 6(must reach by 7:49 am), 8(must reach by 8:26 am), 10(must reach by 9:06 am), 12(must reach by 9:39 am). Notably, the race begins at 6:00 am sharp!
