Overview

Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 21, 2026, when the Hippo Trail Fest transforms Hutto, TX, into a full-day trail celebration. Hosted at the Hippo Social Club (3250 Limmer Loop Unit 3), this event offers a variety of trail distances—from a 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, Marathon, and unique ruck divisions, to the weight-carry challenge Hippo Haul, plus a Youth 1‑Mile race.

🎉 Race & Trail Experience

The course is a flowing 6.5‑mile loop weaving through shaded woods, rolling creekbeds, and mild elevation—designed to challenge experienced trail runners and welcome beginners alike. The loop format makes it spectator-friendly and ideal for aid station laps. Amenities included for all participants are unmatched: access to cold plunge pools, sauna, mobility/stretch zones, wellness experiences, games, and local food/drinks courtesy of Hippo Social Club.

🎯 What Sets It Apart

More than a race, Hippo Trail Fest is a trail wellness festival. Live martial arts showcases (MMA, jiu-jitsu, youth bouts), curated art and music, a recharge zone with sauna and compression therapy, and family activities bring community spirit to every mile. Swag includes tech shirts and medals—register before February 24 to guarantee a shirt. A mandatory \$10 land-use fee is collected with registration.

Course Description

The course features a rolling and well-marked 6.5 mile loop. There will be a shortcut for the 10k, and a few places the 5k will shortcut the full loop. You’ll be primarily meandering through a pretty forest on soft trails. There are a handful of areas you’ll be exposed to the open sky (and therefore sunshine if it’s sunny). So, take that into consideration. The trails are built in and around a bunch of small creeks. If these fill up due to a rain, you’ll have bridges over the bigger gaps, and you can jump over the others if you want to. There isn’t much elevation change, but there are some tight turns at times. There are some sections that feel like cross country running, some short little ups and downs, nothing too technical if you’re used to trail running, but fun enough to keep even experienced trail runners enjoying it!
