Saturday, June 7, 2025, the third annual #HonorConnor Run brings community, memory, and purpose to Charles City, Virginia. Held in honor of Connor James Smith, who passed away at age 12, this inclusive event benefits the Connor James Smith Grant for SCN8A families—supporting children with special needs access to therapies and equipment.
🏅 Race & Course Experience
The half marathon follows a certified two-loop course of 3.25 miles each—out-and-back on the scenic Virginia Capital Trail, starting at Indian Fields Tavern. Water is provided at both turnaround points. The 5K and quarter marathon offer equally accessible trail loops, and virtual options are available across all distances. Bib pickup opens at 6:30 AM EDT, with the race starting at 7:30 AM.
🤝 What Makes It Special
This event unites athleticism with advocacy: all proceeds support SCN8A families, medical grants, and awareness. Included with in-person entries are an official race time, finish-line medal, and a beer for adults (on race day). Fields tend to be small and friendly, giving the race a boutique feel. Virtual participants receive medals and have a full week to complete their chosen distance.
