Saturday, October 18, 2025, Inks Lake State Park (Burnet, TX) plays host to the immersive Inks Lake Trail Run/Ruck, featuring a wide range of trail distances—from 5K to 50K, plus a ruck option, youth run, and more for outdoor endurance lovers.
Race History & Format
Organized by Perspective Pacing, this evolving trail event draws runners of all levels seeking rugged Hill Country scenery and looped-course convenience. Distances offered include 50K, Marathon (26.2 mi), Half Marathon (13.1 mi) (also offered as a weighted ruck), 10K, 5K, and a 1‑Mile Youth Trail Run—all with chip timing and full support.
Course & Runner Experience
Races begin early: 7:00 AM CDT for the 50K, 7:30 AM for marathon and half marathon, and later for shorter distances; the youth run starts at 10:00 AM. Each loop traverses the Lake, Woodland, and Pecan Flats trails, offering panoramic views of Inks Lake and Inks Dam, rugged hill-country terrain, and the opportunity for trail dips at the famous Devil’s Water Hole post-race. Aid stations include a fully serviced hub with PBJ, fruit, pickles, Tailwind, and a midway station with water and electrolytes—be sure to bring your own cup since this is a cup-less event.
What Makes It Unique
This event is as scenic as it is community-driven. With moderate field sizes, looped access for support crews, generous swag and medals (guaranteed if registered before August 27), and a unique ruck challenge option (13.1 mi under 20–30 lb load), it’s the perfect blend of accessibility and ultra-style trail flavor. Pacers are allowed for the 50K final lap (with a small fee), and generous referral discounts let runners earn up to $25 back.
