Celebrate the arrival of 2026 on foot at the Lake Travis New Year’s Trail Challenge, nestled in Arkansas Bend Park, Lago Vista, on Thursday–Friday, January 1–2, 2026. Brought to you by Fit Foundation, this multi-distance trail festival turns resolution into celebration across a scenic riverside landscape.
Join runners from novices to seasoned ultrarunners in events including a 100K ultra, 50K, 25K trail run/ruck, 13.1-mile half marathon (run or ruck), 10K, 5K, and a Kids 1K. The event also features a Last Runner Standing ultra, offering a midnight-to-midnight endurance format.
Starting at 9:00 AM CST on January 1, racers embark on looped courses (7.18 mi per loop) that showcase limestone bluffs, Colorado River vistas, pine forest, and creek crossings. Cutoffs are generous—50K/100K up to 24 hours; half/25K/10K/5K up to 12 hours—making it accessible for many paces. The ruck division adds a unique twist: participants carry 20–30 lb packs on select distances with weight checks at start and finish.
What sets this event apart is its jubilant blend of ultrarunning challenge and open‑hearted community spirit. With lush trail views, strategic pacing loops (ideal for spectators or pacers), and post-race food and music, runners kick off the new year feeling energized, supported, and rooted in outdoor celebration.
