Runners start the race at the northernmost end of the course, in Juanita Beach Park, just off Juanita Drive, near Kirkland. From there, the course heads south through the park along trails for the first mile, and then out onto Market Street and Waverly Way, heading into Kirkland.
After runners make the turn around 108th Avenue, the course heads north along the Cross Kirkland Corridor trail, all the way back up to Juanita Beach Park for the race finish.
You’ll run within view of the lakeshore for most of the first mile and then again between miles 2 through 4; after about the mid-way point between miles 4 and 5, the course returns again to the streets. Most of the second half of the race will be run along the Cross Kirkland Corridor trail.
The course time limit for the half marathon is 3.5 hours, organizers note.
