The Run for the Elk Race Festival happens on July 28, 2024, in Emporium, PA. There is a full marathon, half marathon, 10k, and 5k. Emporium, known as the “Elk Capital of Pennsylvania,” is nestled in the heart of the state’s wild elk herd, with a population of almost 1,000 elk. The full marathon is a Boston Qualifier. The course is a hard packed out and back loop of crushed limestone. There are aid stations with water and Gatorade every two miles.
