Overview

Set for Saturday, November 15, 2025, the Fall Run for the Wounded delivers scenic trail and road-course racing through Prince William Forest Park in Triangle, VA. This event—which features a Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K, plus virtual entries—benefits the Wounded Warrior Project, blending terrain, challenge, and meaningful fundraising.

🏞 Course & Runner Experience

The Half starts at 7:30 AM EST, followed by the 10K at 7:45 AM and the 5K at 8:00 AM. The Half Marathon covers a mix of paved roads (60%) and forest trails, while the 10K is about half paved and half trail; the 5K is a full trail run. The course includes several 2–3 hours of rolling hills, with eight water stations along the half route spaced every 1.5–2 miles.

🎗 Cause & Organization

Organized by Bishop’s Events, this race supports the Wounded Warrior Project, with all finishers receiving a finisher’s coin, technical Drifit shirt, and chip timing. Virtual participants earn a medal and shirt. Points earned contribute to multiple series: Year‑Long 5K/10K/Endurance, Back‑of‑the‑Pack, and Fall Series divisions.

With capped fields, robust logistics, and inclusive pacing, it’s ideal for competitive racers, veteran supporters, and recreational runners alike. The setting—deep forest, shaded trails, crisp fall air—elevates the experience above typical road races.

The Fall Run for the Wounded stands out as a thoughtfully designed autumn half marathon rooted in service, scenic variety, and challenge. With a mix of forest trail and paved road, strong support for veterans, and polished race amenities, it appeals equally to competitive, community-minded, and casual runners.

Course Description

This is a challenging course with some hills along the route. The 5k is a trail run, while the 10k is about 50% trail and 50% pavement. The half is mostly pavement (about 60%). Check the course map for elevation gain.
