Overview

Hosted on Saturday, October 18, 2025, the Valley View Hard Cider Challenge invites runners to traverse autumn-colored landscapes while supporting veterans. This unique event, organized by Bishop’s Events, offers a Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K, all routed near Valley View Farm Hard Cidery in scenic Shenandoah Valley. Participants celebrate fall beauty with a side of local craft cider post-race.

🍂 Course & Runner Experience

The half marathon begins at 8:00 AM EDT, consisting of two out-and-back loops along rolling country roads with moderate hill sections. The 10K and 5K each follow a single loop route, returning runners to the cidery finish area. T-shirts are guaranteed to runners registered prior to September 3. Aid stations are placed approximately every 2 miles, offering hydration and Gatorade. The Back-of-the-Pack (BOTP) times allow slower runners to compete in their own series category: 3h 30m for the half, 2h 15m for the 10K, and 1h 14m for the 5K.

🎯 Why It’s Unique

This race blends community, endurance, and regional flavor. The cidery finish area serves as a natural post-race festival site, with optional cider samples (ID required). Proceeds contribute to Bishop’s Endurance Series and local charity partners. Limited field size ensures personalized attention and boutique race ambiance.

The Valley View Hard Cider Challenge successfully combines fall scenery, community racing, and regional cider culture into a boutique half marathon, 10K, or 5K event with a heart for veterans and local engagement. Ideal for participants seeking a picturesque, well-supported race with charm and character.
