Overview
Welcome to the seventh annual The Race, a half marathon and 5k, in support of black-owned businesses, neighborhoods, and charities. Road Runners. East Point is a suburban city in Atlanta, Georgia. This course will take runners throughout several suburban neighborhoods; an ideal course for those who prefer road running over trail running. Starting at 7:00 a.m and ending at 12:00 p.m., the half marathon course begins at the Impact Event Center on 2323 Sylvan Road.Throughout the race, runners will journey through several neighborhoods of Georgia, including but not limited to East Point, Sylvan Hills, Westview, Oakland City, and Capitol View.
Course Description
All participants will receive a race shirt, a commemorative medallion, a commemorative race bib, and an event patch. Along with the registration fee, your contribution will be put towards the 2024 Charitable Impact Fund! There will be a total of five stocked aid stations throughout the 13.1 mile course that will comprise bottled water. If you want additional fueling sources, it’s encouraged to bring your own. There are several top awards that will be presented post-race, and all participants will be welcomed with complimentary recovery sources including fruit, water, and snack bars. For those in town all weekend long, it’s encouraged that you stop by the post-race expo, otherwise known as the Wrap-up Party, on October 6th from 12-3 p.m
