Set for its 8th annual running this fall under the sunny skies of Southern California, the Kaiser Permanente Thrive Half Marathon is set to unfold along the streets of San Diego, starting and finishing at Ski Beach in Vacation Isle after a run past Sea World.
The race begins, as mentioned above, at Ski Beach in Vacation Isle. From there, the course heads directly north across Fisherman’s Channel and toward Crown Point Beach, swinging through the beach before heading south and around the point.
After this, the course weaves its way clockwise around Mission Bay, sticking close to the water for much of the course. The half marathon course is largely flat and fast from then until reaching Sea World Drive near mile 8, along mostly long straightaway stretches on the Mission Bay Bike Path.
